Gloria Ann Byrd, age 77, of Pensacola, FL, joined her Lord on Thursday, December 2, 2021. Gloria was born on February 23, 1944, in Hartford, AL to the late Shelby "Jack" G. and Ruth Kelly Byrd. In addition to her parents Gloria is preceded in death by a great niece, Audrey Ruth Snuggs.

Gloria graduated from Geneva County High School and went on to Auburn University where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. Gloria then went on to earn a Master's Degree from the University of West Florida.  She was a first grade teacher at Ferry Pass Elementary School for 38 years.

Gloria was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Pensacola where she was actively involved with the adult choir, she also played the hand bells, volunteered with Samaritan Hands Ministry and was involved with the women's bible studies. Gloria loved serving the Lord, her family, friends, her First graders and Auburn University.

Those left to cherish her memory include, her sister, Jackie (Brett) Fain, of Pensacola; nieces, Courtney (Brad) Snuggs, of Hoover and  Brittney (Alan)Allgood, of Fairhope, AL; great nieces, Shelby and Darby Snuggs, of Hoover,AL, Leighton and Ellis Ann Allgood, of Fairhope, AL; great nephews, Thomas and Henry Allgood, of Fairhope, AL; cousins, Shelia (Stan) Lollar, of Pensacola, FL, Jerry (Jane) Kelly, of Taylor, AL, Ann (Tom) Laury and Linda Hallford, of Dothan, AL, Jane (Buddy) Kelly, Raleigh, NC, and Tommy (Denise) Hallford, Gulf Shores, AL.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until a Memorial Service to begin at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Ashley Meyer, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Gulf Coast Kids House, 3401 N. 12 ^th Ave, Pensacola, FL 32503.
