Grady Dwight Peaden, 84, peacefully passed on Thursday afternoon, October 1, 2009 at Covenant Hospice on Hillview Road, here in Pensacola, FL. Dwight was born in Pensacola, FL on April 9, 1925 to Grady Adam and Evelyn "Ted" Peaden. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II as a sergeant in the South Pacific. At the end of hostilities, he was honorably discharged, whereby, he returned to his family, here in Pensacola. After working several years with his family at G.A. Peaden and Sons, he married and began his own business with the Standard Oil Company, later known as Chevron. Dwight owned two service stations, with the first being located on the corner of Garden and "A" streets, then later moving to 12th Avenue and Baars St, here in Pensacola. He was preceded in death by his father Grady Adam; his mother, Evelyn; and his brother James W. Peaden. Dwight is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia Cotita Peaden; his son, Thomas G. Peaden; as well as his brother, Ted L. Peaden. In addition, Dwight is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held 2-4pm Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Graveside Service will be held 12:30pm Monday, October 5, 2009 at Barrancas National Cemetery with Chaplain Gary Laird officiating.
