Norma Jean “Grammy” Lowery, 89, of Pensacola, FL passed away Saturday, September 12, 2026.

Grammy Jean was born February 19, 1937, in Milton, FL. She met her soulmate at a young age and because he was the love of her life she married David Wesley Lowery on November 21, 1953. Their love story built a lasting family legacy that will forever honor Jean’s memory.

Jean worked as a school bus driver in Santa Rosa and Escambia County. She taught Sunday school classes and was involved in many church activities. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the family cabin in the Smokey Mountains.

Jean was an exceptional woman, loving wife, and nurturing mother. She loved Christ and her family. She provided a living example of how to be a strong Christian woman. She most definitely heard, “Well done my good and faithful servant” when she followed her guardian angel to her new home in heaven on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

Jean, known to her family as Grammy, will be forever remembered and greatly missed. Take comfort knowing that she is resting in the arms of Jesus.

Jean is survived by her husband, David Wesley Lowery; her daughters, Sharon Diane Walley (Greg), Donna Denise Whorff (Mark), and DeLana Joy Williamson (Kent); ten grandchildren, Alissa Ann Lamorand (Clint), Shannon Joseph Walley (Jennie), Justin Tyler Walley, Michael Eric Hathaway (Becky), Richard Howard Hathaway, Jr. (Pam), Lorra Denise Amerson (David), Krystle Dawn Alderuccio, Logan Scott Williamson (Olivia), John Wesley Williamson (Kayla), and Nicholas Augustus Williamson (Madisan); 18 great grandchildren, Anthony Joseph Walley, Cristofer Michael Walley, Mia Bella Walley, Lorelai Ashley Lamorand, Michael LeVaughn Hathaway, David Ian Hathaway, Deanna Lynn Hathaway, Elijah Hathaway, Raegan Marie Hathaway, Brayden Monroe Powell, Kalub Monroe Powell, Isabella Jean Grace Johnson, Wesley Owen Williamson, Cooper Lee Williamson, Brody Walker Williamson, David James Williamson, Maximus King Williamson, Logan Scott Williamson, Jr., Vivien Joy Williamson, and Charles Ignatius Williamson; as well as one great-great grandchild, Delta Lynn Atchley.

A visitation will be held from 10:30am until a funeral service begins at 11:30am Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Wayne Foster officiating. Committal Service will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola.

Active Pallbearers will be Shannon Joseph Walley, Michael Eric Hathaway, Richard Howard Hathaway, Jr., Logan Scott Williamson, John Wesley Williamson, and Nicholas Augustus Williamson.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Justin Tyler Walley.
