With profound sadness, our family announces the passing of Gregory Alexander Suskind, 32, of Miami, FL. Gregory was born in Pensacola on September 14, 1981 to Celeste (White) Phelps and Michael Suskind. Gregory graduated from Washington High School in 2000. He had a love of learning, which led to his passion for computers. He was the lead software developer for an e-commerce company, and was an inspiration to those with whom he worked. Gregory was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, J. George and Christine (Yaya) White; paternal grandparents, A.J. and Ann Suskind; special great aunts Elizabeth (Keiki) Cunningham and Irene Ruston. He is survived by his loving wife, Jessica Smith Suskind; his loving daughter, Harmony Wooten of whom he was so proud; mother, Celeste Phelps (Edgar); father, Michael Suskind (Karyn); sister, Jennifer Suskind; nephew, Alexander Suskind; niece, Morgan Ellis; his very special uncles, Jay and Sheldon White; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alan and Nancy Smith; and many loving relatives and friends. Gregory was known for his strong love of family, loyalty to his friends, integrity, and love of life. Our broken hearts will fondly remember his zest for life, his genuine smile, and the magic in his eyes. The family will receive friends 5-7pm Friday, May 9, 2014 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. A Private burial will be held at a later date. The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the American Heart Association. "I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave behind when day is done." Helen Lowrie Marshall
