David M. "Gus" Fell, age 84, of Pensacola, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, in Pensacola. Gus was born on November 11, 1936 in Stamford, Conn to the late Charles W. and Barbara W. Dunnell Fell.
Gus was a loving husband and a great friend to many, he will be missed by all that knew him.
Gus graduated from Redford High School in Detroit Michigan in 1955. He attained an Associates Degree in liberal arts from the College of The Sequoias in Visalia California in 1967, he also graduated from the University of West Florida with a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Technology in 1983.
Gus proudly served his country in the US Navy, retiring after 20 years of service in 1977. He was always an active participant within his community. He was regional executive in the Gulf Coast region of the Sports Car Club of America, he also held a regional and national racing license. He was a past president of the Panhandle British Car Association , a member of the Mardi Gras Krewe of Warriors for 16 years, a member of the Pensacola Heritage Foundation , a member of the Emerald Coast Chapter of the American Wine Society and a member of the Pensacola Beach Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Ann E. Fell.
He and his lovely wife were fortunate enough to spend 12 years traveling the USA in their RV, seeing most of this beautiful country! They traveled from Key West to Nova Scotia, Alaska to California and most places in between.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Gus will be held at 11:00am on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Barrancas National Cemetery, with Chaplain Jim Dietz, officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the US NAVY. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel at 10:00am on Monday to go together in procession to the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to the University of West Florida's Engineering Department Scholarship Fund.
