MAJ Hank Lee DeVoll, USAF (Ret.), 75, of Pensacola, FL passed away Monday, October 14, 2024.
Hank was born in Sedalia, MO and grew up in the Panama Canal Zone. After graduating from Cristobal High School, he spent a year traveling as a cast member of Up with People. Hank joined the US Army during the Vietnam era, and he earned a highly decorated military career and was awarded the Bronze Star. After 12 years in the Army, he transferred to the Air Force and became a helicopter pilot. During his 16 years in the Air Force, he flew many missions including search and rescue support for the Space Shuttle.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Norma DeVoll.
Hank is survived by his wife, Rose DeVoll; son, Jason DeVoll; stepdaughters, Ashley Sharp (Greg) and Brianne Huie (Garner); grandchildren, Campbell and Quinn Sharp, Wright and Harrison Huie; as well as numerous cousins.
Visitation will be held 12:00pm until a Memorial Service begins at 1:00pm Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Chaplain Ken Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with Air Force Honors.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Greg Sharp, Campbell Sharp, Garner Huie, Johnnie Wright, Reece Wright, and Lawson Wright.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to his ICU nurses at Baptist Hospital, Brandi and Avery.
