Harold "Sonny" Conrad Banfell, Jr., 77, of Pensacola passed away Monday, November 11, 2013. Sonny was born in Pensacola, FL on September 27, 1936 to Nieta (Braswell) and Harold Conrad Banfell, Sr. Sonny was raised in East Pensacola Heights, graduated from Pensacola Catholic High School and received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He was a Superintendent with the City of Pensacola Sewage Treatment Plant for many years. Later he was employed with Cytec, traveling the southeast in the Water Treatment Division. Since his retirement, Sonny could be found in the kitchen of Jerry's Drive In preparing food. His parents preceded him in death. Survivors include his son, Jace Conrad Banfell, Sr. (Kelly); grandchildren, Jace Conrad Banfell, Jr. and Peyton Hayes Banfell. Visitation will be 5-7pm Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm Friday, November 15, 2013 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Fr. John Licari officiating. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 707 E. Cervantes St., Suite B, PMB #112, Pensacola, FL 32501, or to the Escambia County Animal Shelter, 200 W. Fairfield Dr., Pensacola, FL 32501.
