Harold Eugene Godwin, 67, of Mobile, AL passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2010. He was born in Prichard, AL on July 27, 1943. He served a short time in the US Coast Guard and was honorably discharged for medical reasons. During his life, he was employed by Coca Cola, NCR, Builders Specialties and recently retired from Mobile Lumber. Harold had plans to relocate to Pensacola to be closer to his family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching Alabama football and spending time with his family. Preceding him in death were his father, Homer A. Godwin; mother, Una Godwin and a brother, Dewey Godwin. He is survived by his son, Christopher Zane Godwin (Kimberly) of Pensacola; his former wife, Sheila J. Godwin of Pensacola; grandchildren, Bailee A. McGuffin and Christopher Zane Godwin, Jr. both of Pensacola; nephews, Greg Godwin (Rachelle) and Randy Godwin both of Gulf Shores and Jeff Godwin (Lynn) of Pensacola. Harolds wishes were to be cremated and for his final resting place to be the Gulf of Mexico. Memorial services will be held at 11am Friday, October 15, 2010 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd. Pensacola with Rev. Ken Griffin officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 4400 Bayou Blvd., Pensacola, FL 32503.
