IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Harry Blanchard
Arden
January 17, 1953 – October 7, 2025
Harry Blanchard Arden, 72, of Pensacola, FL, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
Born on January 17, 1953, in Pensacola, FL, to John and Sue Arden, Harry was a proud Pensacola native through and through. A graduate of Pensacola High School's Class of 1971, he went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Navy, beginning his military career in 1980. Stationed in La Maddalena, Italy, Harry met the love of his life, Marianna, and her daughter Eleanora, had a meeting that would change his life forever.
During his naval service, Harry worked in the Chaplain's Office, where his compassion, dedication, and sense of duty shone brightly. He rose to the rank of Petty Officer First Class and retired in October 1995 while stationed in New Orleans, LA.
After retiring from the Navy, Harry and his family returned to his beloved hometown of Pensacola. He went on to serve the State of Florida with Child Protective Services, dedicating himself to helping families and children in need until his second retirement in 2008.
Harry was a man of kindness, laughter, and quiet strength. He had a deep love for music, a passion for the outdoors, and a heartfelt dedication to supporting Project Red. Known for his generous spirit, Harry brought light and humor to every room he entered and was always the first to offer a helping hand.
Above all, Harry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He cherished his family, Marianna's children Giovani, Liliana, Rita, and Ellie and together they raised their daughter, Mary Sue. To his grandchildren, Angioletto, Giada, Ambra, Elisa, and Luca, he was the best Granddad, or "Nonno," anyone could ask for, he was always full of love, wisdom, and joy. Harry also loved all his animals throughout the years, however Nerina, his sweet rescue puppy, was his shadow and everywhere companion.
A celebration of Harry's life will be held later this month at one of his favorite gathering spots, Pacific Kava Bar in downtown Pensacola. A private family ceremony will follow, where his ashes will be laid to rest beside his parents at Barrancas National Cemetery.
Harry will be remembered for his big heart, his unwavering faith in people, and the love he poured into his family and friends. His memory will live on in every song, every smile, and every act of kindness shared in his honor.
