Hazel Newsom Brunson, 92, passed away May 23, 2014 at Lakeville Community Hospital in Niles, MI. She was born on February 1, 1922 in Geneva County, AL to Domingus & TheoDosia (Hinson) Newsom. On April 4, 1942 in she married Robert Brunson; he preceded her in death on May 25, 1989 in Pensacola, FL. After WWII, Hazel and Robert moved from Alabama to Plainwell, MI where they lived for over 40 years. After retirement they moved to Pensacola, FL. to live closer to their sisters and brothers. She was preceded in death by a son, Alan Dale Brunson. Surviving are three children, Linda Kay (William) McNiff of Edwardsburg, MI, Denise Marguerite Brunson and James Bradley Brunson both of Kissimmee, FL. Also surviving are two grandchildren, William Scott (Elizabeth) McNiff of Edwardsburg, MI, Stephen (Omayra) McNiff of Buford, GA, and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be 9:00am until a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00am on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Internment will immediately follow in Bayview Memorial Park.
