IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Heidemarie Wera
Solarski
April 7, 1939 – August 7, 2023
Heidemarie Wera Solarski, 84, of Gulf Breeze, FL, died Monday, August 7, 2023.
Heidemarie was born on April 7, 1939, in Brno, Czechoslovakia. She was separated from her mother as an infant during World War II and spent the rest of the war and beyond as a refugee. She survived a forced march out of Czechoslovakia and life in various camps, finally settling in Germany, where she was eventually re-united with her mother, with help from the Red Cross. In her late teens, she left home and lived in Switzerland for a while before emigrating on her own to the United States, from where she had received CARE packages after the war, including her First Communion dress. In 1959, she moved to Long Island, NY and in 1961, she met her future husband, Dr. Robert A. Solarski, DDS. They were married three months later. Together they started their family and had 3 sons. During this time, besides being a devoted wife and mother, she also managed her husband's dental practices in Massapequa, Long Island and Keeseville, NY until they both retired and moved to Gulf Breeze, FL in 1999. To Heidemarie, family always came first and will be remembered for being a loving spirit. Her exquisite taste was always displayed in her grooming and dress in herself as well as her children, and in home and garden. She was also an excellent gourmet cook who passed her skills, knowledge and love of food to her children and grandchildren. Heidi was a person with remarkable talents and skills at which she excelled, including people skills. She will be deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Norma Hegger.
Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Dr. Robert A. Solarski; three sons, Robert T. Solarski (Jennifer), Andrew C. Solarski (Linda) and Jeremy T. Solarski; as well as five grandchildren, Erika, Jennifer, Charles "Alex", Robert and Morgan.
