Helen Schulein was born on August 22, 1904 in Warsaw, IN to Silas and Rae Shana. She died June 22, 2015 at the age of one hundred ten years and ten months outliving her brother Malcolm and sister-in-law, Florence. Helen attended Milwaukee Downes Finishing School and then graduated from Ohio State University. She taught all elementary grades in a one room school house until she met her future husband, Victor Miller Schulein from St. Louis, MO. They were married on October 11, 1929 and lived in St. Louis County until Victors death on December 29, 1997. Helen moved to Pensacola to be with her daughter, Joyce and son-in-law, Dr. Bert Dannheisser and moved to Azalea Trace Retirement Community in February 1998 after previously planning to live there. She enjoyed every minute and everyone at her new home. Helen loved being with her grandchildren, Dan (Debbie), Tom (Karen),and Matt (Tammy); great grandchildren, Leah, Laura (Joe), Jana (Matt), Matthew, Joshua, Sam, Nichole; and great-great grandchild, Indie A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 22 (Helen's Birthday) at 2:00 pm with Chaplain Jim Dietz officiating. The service and following reception will be held in the Azalea Trace Auditorium at 10100 Hillview Drive. We invite all of Helen's and our friends and acquaintances to help celebrate our wonderful mother's life.
