Helena Hendree Harrison, 76, died peacefully at Azalea Trace in Pensacola, FL, on Friday, November 15, 2024, surrounded by those who loved and cared for her.

Helena was born in Jacksonville, FL, on May 26,1948, to The Rev. Edward H. and Laura T. Harrison, the second of their four children. As a young family, they spent time living in FL, OH, and MS. Helena graduated from Birmingham-Southern College and began a 38-year teaching career in elementary education in Atlanta, GA, serving in both public and private schools. During this time, she earned her master's degree in Elementary Ed and advanced certifications in Reading from Georgia State University. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Iota, a national educational organization.

Helena was an active member of the churches she attended. She served on Vestries, Stewardship Committees, Pastoral Care Ministries, Hospitality Committees, Altar Guilds, and as a Eucharistic Minister and a Sunday School Teacher. While in Atlanta, Helena attended St. Luke's Episcopal Church and St. Bede's Episcopal Church. Upon her retirement, Helena moved to Blairsville, GA, and became actively involved at St. Clare's Episcopal Church.

Helena is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her siblings and their spouses, Laura Grimm, Edward Harrison (Teresa), and George Harrison (Jean); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service for Helena will be held at 2:00 pm on June 19, 2025, at St. Claire's Episcopal Church, in Blairsville, GA, with interment in their Memorial Garden.
