Herbert Gordon Cooper, 81, of Pensacola, FL passed away peacefully on January 21, 2018 after a lengthy battle with cancer. His family, whom he loved deeply, was by his side.

Herbert was born on July 23, 1936, was raised in Pensacola, and graduated from PHS in 1955. He was retired from Bell South after 30 years of service and was a veteran of the US Air Force.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Anita Severns and step-father, Chesley.

Herbert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Johansen Cooper; their children, David Cooper (Karla), Nancy Hendry (James) and Amy Gainey (Danny); their eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his sister, Earline O'Toole.

Visitation will be held 1:00pm until the Funeral Service at 2:00pm Friday, January 26, 2018 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Pastor Joe Prestridge, Coastline Calvary Chapel, officiating. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be: Danny Gainey, James Hendry, Scott Frantz, Jake Burks, Andrew Gainey, and Nathan Gainey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
