Homer Ruth 79, of DeFuniak Springs, FL died Friday, October 21, 2011. Mr. Ruth was born in Manchester, KY on January 12, 1932 to Alsey (Gregory) and Rubin Ruth. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force for 26 years retiring as a MSGT, and an additional 10 years with the Civil Service at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH. Mr. Ruth was a member of the Kentucky Colonels since 1979. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, watching baseball and NASCAR, but his greatest joy came from playing with his grandchildren and dogs. He is survived by his wife, Donna L. Ruth; children, Homer Lynn, Carrie Lee (Rachael), Skyler Wilson (Ksenia), and Sarah Jean; sister, Germaine Loughran; brothers, Pearl Ruth and Roy Ruth; grandchildren, Sara Marie, Jake, Zach, Reece and Mark David; and many other loved relatives and friends. A Graveside Service will be held at 12:30pm Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Barrancas National Cemetery with full military honors.
