Inez Roth, 88, died on Sunday, January 12, 2020, in Pensacola, FL following a lengthy illness.

Inez, born in Portland, FL, was a devoted wife, mother, friend, and homemaker. She traveled the world with her husband, Gilbert, as he served his country for over 24 years in the US Air Force Weather Service. Her senior years were spent in Northwest Florida enjoying life with her husband and steadfast companion of 58 years, Gilbert; and their daughter, Deborah; and son-in-law, Robert.

Inez loved to laugh, visit new restaurants, and spend time at home with her family and friends. As an avid reader, Inez was a long-time member of several book clubs. She also loved indoor gardening with orchids and African violets. Inez remained steadfast in her faith of God, the love of Jesus Christ, and the hope of everlasting life, while suffering through her 10-year battle with cancer and her eventual death.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to all the family and friends that lovingly supported them, during this very difficult time. Additionally, they sincerely appreciate the compassionate care received from the doctors, nurses, and caregivers at the Woodlands, Vitas Hospice, and Muriel Finger Sitters, particularly Ms. Dorothy "Dot" Grace. Finally, the family would like to especially thank the Pastor and Deacons of the Basilica of Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for their wonderful pastoral care: Father Joseph Callipare, Deacon Stephen Wolfe, and Deacon Tony Santos.

Inez is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Roth; parents, Thomas and Clara Godwin; brothers, Benny Godwin, Earl Godwin, Irving Godwin, Burruss Godwin, Donald Godwin; sister, Irene Paulk; nephew, David Thomas Godwin; and niece, Susan Harper Jones.

Surviving family members include her daughter, Deborah; son-in-law, Robert Clipper; sister-in-law, Clara Godwin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00am Monday, January 27, 2020 at the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, with Fr. Joseph Callipare celebrant. Burial will follow at Heritage Gardens Cemetery, in Niceville, FL.
