Ingeborg “Inga” Oster Fields, 87 of Pensacola, FL., passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

Inga was born in Trier, Germany in 1939 to Military father Nicholaus Oster and mother Lina, later being apart of a large family with 13 siblings. Her earliest memories and foundation of her personality were shaped by her experience of World War 2 and post WW2 West Germany.

She met and then married a United States Airman and immigrated to the US after her first child was born on base in Germany.

She spent a part of her life being a stay at home mom and later as a single parent who worked various jobs with intense labor.

In her younger years she was a social butterfly who loved to go dancing, bowling, and play bingo.

She never let food go to waste and she loved to save anything that could be used later! She loved country music, birds, reading, egg drop soup, and sci fi movies and books.

She will be dearly remembered for always being there to give everything for her family, teaching her grandchildren fun German words, and her rice pudding that she always cooked with love.

She is survived by her children, Gregory Fields, Douglas Fields, Robert Fields, and Patricia Matthews; grandchildren, Kayla Leggett (great grandchild Charlotte Moss), Hunter Matthews, Jeffrey Fields, Brianne Fields, Douglas Fields Jr., and Robert Fields Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.
