Edith Irene Jones, 90, of Pensacola, FL, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022, at her niece's home in Wedowee, AL.

A New Brockton, AL native, Irene was born on September 11, 1931, the daughter of Wayne Sydney and Madge Hardwick Dunnavant. She was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Pensacola where she served on staff after retiring from Civil Service with the United States Government.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Pete Jones.

Survivors include her niece, Paula Malone of Wedowee, AL; nephew, Todd Dunnavant (Valerie) of Houston, TX; great-nieces and nephews, Rob Malone (Miranda) of Daphne, AL, Patricia Lockhart, Esq., of Birmingham, AL, and Anna and Trey Lockhart.

Visitation will be held 1:00pm until the Funeral Service to begin at 2:00pm Saturday, August 20, 2022, at St. Mark United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Baughman and Rev. Paul Wolfe officiating. Irene will be laid to rest next to Pete at Bayview Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be the Lions Club Men of Pensacola.

Services will be conducted by Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee, AL and Haper-Morris Memorial Chapel.
