Obituary

Irvin LaDelle Heideman 1920-2010 Irvin LaDelle Heideman 90, of Pensacola passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010. Mr. Heideman was born February 4, 1920 in Winfred, SD to Alice Myrtle Walker and Grover Earl Heideman. His early years were spent on a farm near Colton, SD. After high school he went several years to South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD. His early work experience as a Mechanical Engineer was at Akron and Barberton, OH with Babcock and Wilcox. After he was drafted, he joined the 738th Field Artillery Battalion with Pattons 3rd Army and went through Europe ending in Susice, Czechoslovakia. After the war he was involved in a prisoner of war camp in Metz and later college in Dijon, France coming home in 1946. He worked in Cleveland, OH with Johnston & Jennings also in New York City. Pettibone Corporation in Chicago purchased his company in 1951. In Chicago he met his wife, Dorothy Doty and they were married in 1952. The couple lived in Oak Park and Glen Ellyn, IL before moving to Pensacola in 1986. A son; Karl Frederick, his parents; and a sister; Delila Caselli preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, a son; Kurt (Sarah), his sister; Beryl Lee, brothers; George, Tom, Dale, his daughter-in-law Walta and 4 grandchildren; Kevin, Rachel, Mark, and Kari. There will be a Memorial Service for residents at Azalea Trace at 11:00am Thursday, February 25, 2010, at Azalea Trace, with Chaplain Larry Mosley and Dr. Randon Jackson officiating. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00pm, Saturday, March 6, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Randon Jackson officiating. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 33 East Gregory St., Pensacola, FL 32502 or to the Alzheimers Family Services, 1901 N. Palafox, Pensacola, FL 32501. HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
