Irving Robert "Bob" Wright II, aka "Buddy", age 67, formerly of Pensacola, FL passed away Friday, December 8, 2017.
He was born in Maryville, TN on July 19, 1950 to Arthur Lynn Wright and Carolyn C. Wright. His father served in the United States Army in WWII as a bomber pilot overseas. He grew up with two sisters, Pam and Nancy, who he loved with all his heart. He graduated from Elizabethton High School in 1969. He then attended East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN. There, he was a very active member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, where he served in numerous roles. He graduated there in 1974 and began his career with Roadway Express. He worked over 30+ years with the company, mostly in management roles throughout Louisiana, Alabama, and Florida, and was even once recognized as Manager of the Year for the company. Bob's hobbies included running, tennis, cajun cooking, hunting, fishing, jazz music, boating, and many more activities. He loved the outdoors and spent every second he could doing something active. He met his first and only wife, Lydia, in Pensacola, FL in 1987 and married shortly after in 1989. They had two children, Lyndsey (October 9, 1990), and Tyler (April 23, 1993). This is when Bob became "Buddy". He loved his two children with all his heart and they truly were the light of his life. He helped coach every ball team, attended every academic event, and supported them with his unconditional love in every way that he possibly could.
