Iva Dawn Marie Mitchell, 77, of Gulf Breeze, FL passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 14, 2024.

She is now reunited in Heaven with her Lord and Savior; her sweet son, James E. Mitchell, IV; her loving husband, James E. Mitchell, III; mother, Margaret M. McCrory; father, Robert D. Laird; and her sister, Clara Scotto.

Iva is survived by her daughter, Dena M. Mitchell; loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends and neighbors who loved her dearly.

She was a lover of nature and all things outdoors, she enjoyed fishing, hiking and hunting. Her stories of adventure would always bring a smile to your face. Iva Dawn was a strong and loving woman who was always willing to give to others. Although she was a private woman, if you were blessed enough to know her, you knew she had a huge heart and would do anything for those she loved. She would tell stories to cheer you up and make you smile and could fix anything. She will be greatly missed by many.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am until a Funeral Service begins at 11:00am Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Fr. Dennis O'Brien officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Phil Matthews, II, Phil Matthews, III, John Ramsey, John Matthew Rowley, and Derrick McDiarmid.
