Ivan Stanley
Levine
Nov 17, 1950 — Oct 11, 2026
Pensacola
Monday
Apple Annie’s at Seville Quarter
3:00 - 6:00 pm (Central time)
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the Mitchell family and the entire staff of Seville Quarter announce the passing of our beloved family friend Ivan Levine. Ivan passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 11, 2026 after a brave and dignified battle with cancer. He was 75 years old.
For more than 45 years, Ivan was an icon of downtown Pensacola. As a cherished, lifetime member of Seville Quarter’s "Good Time Gang," Ivan dedicated his life to patrolling his neighborhood watch areas, bringing endless joy, laughter, and a sense of community to everyone he encountered. Whether he was writing friendly "tickets" from his pocket notebook or bringing joy to others with the balloon business he ran for many years, Ivan was a legendary fixture of our downtown scene.
To our family, Ivan was much more than a local legend—he was ours to love, protect, and cherish. We are deeply grateful for the decades of his love & friendship. While Government Street will feel a little emptier without its favorite coordinator on neighborhood patrol, Ivan’s legacy of joy and community spirit will live on forever in the halls of Seville Quarter.
Ivan is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Levine; aunt, Doreen Swartz and uncle, Leonard Swartz both of Pensacola, FL.
He is survived by his loving older sister, Francine White of Pensacola, FL; half-sister, Nelda Levine of Chandler, AZ; niece, Melissa McKenzie of Pensacola, FL and many others.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm in Apple Annie’s at Seville Quarter.
In honor of Ivan’s lifelong dedication to watching over our streets, we invite you to share your favorite memories, stories, and photographs as we prepare to give our favorite "downtown protector" the send-off he truly deserves.
Rest in peace, Ivan. Your watch has gracefully ended.
