Robert "Jack" Cathcart, Jr., 93, of Pensacola, FL passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023.

Mr. Cathcart was born in Atlanta, GA on January 15, 1930, to Robert Jackson Cathcart, Sr. and Ray (Mathews) Cathcart. Jack graduated from the University of Georgia in 1951 and earned his master's from Indiana University and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He served his country for 4 years in the U S Air Force. While stationed at Ft. Walton Beach, Jack met Johnnie Lowery. They married in 1953. After leaving the Air Force they moved to Atlanta where Jack spent his working career as a Branck Manager and Vice President for Fulton Federal S& L in Atlanta, GA.

In 1995, they moved to Pensacola to be near their family. They loved to travel in their RV, playing bridge, their church family at Cokesbury United Methodist Church, and their family.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Jack Cathcart, Sr.

Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Johnnie L. Cathcart; daughter, Caroline Gilmore (Mike); son Bob Cathcart, III (Robin); grandchildren, Michael Gilmore of Gulfport, MS, Jacob Gilmore of Pensacola, Rae Cathcart of Duluth, GA, Jackson Cathcart of Cumming, GA, Kennedy Cathcart of Cumming, GA.

Memorial Visitation was held 3:00pm – 4:00pm Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Interment will be later at Barrancas National Cemetery.

A Committal Service will be held at 2:30pm Friday, January 12, 2024, at Barrancas National Cemetery. A funeral cortege will depart Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel at 2:00pm for Barrancas National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 5745 N. 9th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32504: Emerald Coast Hospice, 5111 N. 12th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32504.
