John D. "Jack" DeGasparre, 81, of Pensacola, FL passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024.
Jack was born in Pawtucket, RI on November 2, 1942, to Constance (Caldarone) and George DeGasparre. He served in the US Coast Guard for four years, then worked for NADEP, retiring as a supervisor in 1992. Jack later worked for the Chamber of Commerce on Perdido Key for several years.
Jack was a fan of NASCAR and attended numerous racing events throughout the southeast. He was an avid collector on NASCAR Die Cast Cars and had an entire bedroom to hold and display his 300 plus cars.
Jack always enjoyed volunteering at the Special Olympics while Brandon was a competitor.
Jack is preceded in death by his father, George DeGasparre and mother, Constance Palin.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Sue DeGasparre; children, Renee Wilkerson (Donnie), Lori Hargrove (Ricky), Debbie Lambert (Richard), and Brandon Sanford; grandchildren, Libby De Rusha (Chris), Marissa Johnson (William), Ryan Wilkerson (Rebekah), Adam Wilkerson, Eric Wilkerson (Maggie), Audree Wilkerson (Michael), Parker Lambert, and Ansley Lambert; great grandchildren, Logan, Cristian (Shelby), Jenna, Ryan, Hunter, and Kallynn; as well as a great-great grandson, Eli.
Visitation will be held 11:30am until a Memorial Service begins at 12:00pm, Monday, August 12, 2024, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Reverend Dr. Levi Gardner officiating. Inurnment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with US Coast Guard honors. In true Jack fashion, the family is requesting that vibrant colors and/or Hawaiian prints be worn.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Alzheimer's association at www.alz.gov .
