Obituary

Early in the morning on Monday, December 25, 2023 (Christmas Day), Jacquelin Swigart, 93, of Pensacola, FL went home to be with the Lord.

She was born in London, KY on September 8, 1930, along with her twin sister, Edwinna. She met the love of her life, Jack, when the family moved to Wooster, OH. After marriage, they resided in Rochester, NY where they raised their 3 children. They enjoyed camping and doing all the winter sports with their children. Jackie was an expert seamstress and passed on a love of sewing to both of her daughters. After 30 years, they moved to High Point, NC where they spent almost 40 years. Those years were filled with service, fun and purpose. Jackie was a Hospice volunteer for 25 years. She dedicated herself to her family, her friends, and her church. Her attention to detail along with her artistic flair made her table decorations at Cedar Square legendary. Jackie was a great cook and a talented baker, and she loved gardening and arranging flowers. One of her greatest enjoyments was playing cards, especially Skip Bo. In her adult life, she found a love for painting, specializing in theorems and stenciling. Jack and Jackie built a "Craft Barn" on their NC property where Jackie taught art techniques to many students over many years. She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of style, her quick wit, and her warm hospitality.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Lucile (Poynter) Knuckles and her sisters, Tommie Lessiter Maegle and Edwinna Green.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 73 years, Jack; her daughters, Karen Williamson (Rod), Debra Tallman (Jim), and son, Casey Swigart (Cheri); grandchildren, Katie Carswell (Jeremy), John Williamson (Kate), Sarah Wilson (Marc), Emily Kraus (Greg), Audra Garlich (Matt), and Keith Swigart (Dani); great-grandchildren, Cameron, Maren, James, Kennedy, Karis, Brody, Grayson, Jack, Brady, Ansley, Finley and a new baby due in April.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 1:00pm Sunday, January 14, 2024, at the Azalea Trace Auditorium, with Chaplain Jim Dietz officiating.

The family would like to thank the staff at Willowbrook Court and Emerald Coast Hospice for their loving care of our spunky Mom.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cedar Square Friends Meeting, 7546 Harlow Rd., Archdale, NC.
