Obituary

James "Jim" A. Warren, 69, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014 after an eight month battle with leukemia. Jim was born in Monroe, LA on September 6, 1944 to I.V. and Audrey Warren. Jim was a long time resident of Pensacola, FL graduating from Escambia High School in 1962. He attended PJC before joining the Air Force in 1964. After serving in the Air Force, he returned to Pensacola, FL to work for BellSouth until he retired in 2001. Jim was a life long member of Brownsville Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling and spending time with his friends and family, especially every moment he could with his two grandsons. Jim was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was one of the founding members of Burnt Warren Hunting Club in Old Texas, AL. Jim was an original member of the "Under the Tree Bunch" at the C.W.A. Union Hall. He also enjoyed afternoons as a regular at the Trading Post. Jim was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Glenda Warren; his children, David (Jill), Kathryn, and Andrew; his grandchildren, Keegan Warren and Rhys Warren; his brother, Dennis Warren. Memorial Visitation will be held 5-7pm Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Celebrations of Life for Jim will be held in Pensacola, FL and Old Texas, AL. The time and date will be announced later. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 or The Make a Wish Foundation of Central and Northern Florida, 1020 N. Orlando Ave., Ste# 100; Maitland, FL 32751. Special thanks to the physicians, nurses and staff at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX and Sacred Heart Cancer Center at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, FL. The family wishes to also thank all of his many friends for their prayers and support throughout his illness.
