James “Jimmy” Gray Hartsfield, 71, of Pensacola, FL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 21,2026.
He was born on April 9, 1954, in Pensacola, FL to William & Barbara (Holmes) Hartsfield. After high school he married his high school sweetheart Deborah A. Smith who he was married to for 38 wonderful years. James started his career at Pensacola NAS where he worked until his retirement. James was a loving father, devoted family man, and a hard worker who always put his family first. He had a true passion for fast pitch softball and painting, proudly taking over the family business and continuing its legacy. James was a die-hard Florida State Fan, he cherished watching games with family and friends. Go NOLES! He lived a life of love, labor and ball, and will be deeply missed and forever loved.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, William & Barbara (Holmes) Hartsfield; loving wife, Deborah Hartsfield; sister, Tremellah Walling McInnis and son in law Kenneth Ledbetter Jr.
Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Stacy Ledbetter; son, James Hartsfield II; granddaughter, Kayden Ledbetter and granpup, Skye.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the funeral service starts at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Brother McGaughey will officiate. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be: Barry Reid, Ryan Reid, Preston Ramsey, Ralph Bryan, Jackson Vassuar and Micheal Henderson. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Hughes, Mike Bryan and Dave McBurney.
His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
