Jim Loy, 65, of Pensacola, passed away suddenly Saturday, May 4, 2013. Jim was born September 2, 1947 in Knoxville, TN. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Forestry and was employed by the Southern Pine Inspection Bureau for nearly 42 years, where he was appointed president in 2003. He was a member of the Administrative and Finance Sub-Committee and the Enforcement Sub-Committee of the American Lumber Standard Committee. He was an honorable businessman who devoted his time, energy and Christian ethics to strengthen the Southern Pine industry. Jim was a faithful member of the Bellview Church of Christ, where he also served as a deacon. He enjoyed hunting with friends in Alabama, Texas and South Carolina. Church, family and friends meant everything to him. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Thelma Loy. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Nancy Bailey Loy; his daughter, Jamie (Scot) Brazell of Pensacola and his son, Bryan (Emily) Loy of Waynesboro, TN; three grandsons, Quinn, Bailey and Cameron Brazell and one granddaughter, Rubye Mae Loy; his twin brother, John (Liz) Loy and his sister, Brenda Loy and nephews, Patrick and Andy Loy all of Knoxville, TN; mother-in-law, Rubye Bailey of Pensacola and formerly of Knoxville, TN; brother-in-law, Mike (Beth) Bailey; nieces, Mary (Richie) Ayers and Meg (Scott) Crockett of Senatobia, MS and many friends and extended family. Jim's grandchildren were the love of his life, and they will greatly miss their Papaw. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Funeral services following at 11:00 A.M. Michael Hatcher and Scot Brazell will be officiating. Burial will follow in Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House in your area.
