James Shelton "Snapper" Worsnop, 64, of Pensacola, FL passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, February 29, 2024, of acute myeloid leukemia six months after diagnosis.
Snapper was born on September 11, 1959, in Greensboro, NC. Known to friends and colleagues as "Snapper", he began working at the paper mill in Cantonment in 1978 and retired in 2021 after 43 years. He enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, hunting, scuba diving, boating, golfing, gardening, watching Florida Gators sports, and spending time with friends and family. A second-generation member of the Krewe of Lafitte, following his father Richard Worsnop, he enjoyed participating in parades and social gatherings with his Krewe members.
Remembered as a teacher of his wide range of skills, he is survived by his loving wife, Donna Worsnop; father, Richard Worsnop; mother, Patricia Worsnop; brothers, Fred, and Francis; sister, Evelyn; daughter, Danielle; sons, Adam and Paul; as well as grandchildren, London, Hudson, and Vera.
