James "Wayne" Stewart of Pensacola, FL passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017 after a long battle with Lymphoma. Wayne was born on June 8, 1948 in Quincy, FL.

Wayne had a happy childhood growing up in Mt. Pleasant with his sister and brothers and working with the family business, Stewart TV and Appliance. After graduating from Quincy High School, Wayne received an AA Degree from Chipola Jr. College and a BS Degree in Computer Science from the University of West Florida.

With a work ethic of "Whatever it takes", Wayne gave 46 years of service to PJC/PSC as a Junior Programmer, Senior Programmer, Analyst, System Analyst, and Director of Systems Support.

Wayne had many interests including travel, photography, playing guitar, and composing music with different instruments in a variety of musical genres. He also enjoyed playing guitar for the Bayview Senior Citizens. In addition to these interests he enjoyed anything related to cars including races, restoration, car shows, and customization. In retirement he recently added woodworking as a new hobby.

Wayne has been a Christian since he was a youth at Methodist Camp when he felt Jesus calling him to join His fold. He has been a member of First Baptist Church of Pensacola for 46 years. He enjoyed working with the media ministry for over 30 of those years.

Through all the battles of fighting Lymphoma Wayne has remained faithful in the Lord. In his final testimony Wayne noted his verse for strength as Psalm 121:2, My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. He states, "My life may not be falling apart but falling into place."

Wayne was preceded in death by his father, James Stewart of Quincy, FL. Survivors are his wife of 46 years, Nancy Stewart of Pensacola, FL; daughter, Lindsey Stewart Cassell (Eric) of Jacksonville, FL; granddaughter, Emily Cassell of Jacksonville, FL; mother, Kathleen Stewart of Quincy, FL; sister, Gail Presnell of Quincy, FL; brothers, John Stewart (Jeri) of Quincy, FL and Mark Stewart (Susan) of Ft. Worth, TX.

Visitation will be held 10:00am (CST) until the Funeral Service begins at 11:00am (CST) Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at First Baptist Church, Pleitz Chapel, Pensacola, FL, with Dr. Barry Howard officiating. Graveside Service will be held 11:00am (EST) Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Quincy, FL with Rev. Bob Jones officiating.

Active Pallbearers include Charles Bourne, James Callaway, Jim Cooper, Bob Jones, Vance Land, and Charles Woodward.
