On October 24, 2013, our angel, James Stephen Ward earned his wings and flew thru the pearly gates into the arms of his loving grandparents. James was born on February 9, 1998 in Pensacola, FL. He attended West Florida High School, where he was a part of the Criminal Justice Program. He was Sergeant at Arms in the Criminal Justice Club and also a part of the Honor Guard. He loved his family and friends and loved to hunt with his daddy and brother. He hoped to attend Annapolis Naval Academy and become a part of the U.S. Navy Seal Team. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. James was preceded in death by his grandparents; Stephen J. Pierce and Judy Laquache; his great aunt and uncle, Cary and Mildred Ward and cousins, Jessica and P.J. He is survived by his parents, Shelia and Joe; his brother, Jake; his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends as well as new friends. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Thursday, October 31, 2013 at St. Anne's Catholic Church with Fr. Peter McLaughlin celebrant. Burial will follow at 12:30pm at Barrancas National Cemetery. Flowers may be sent or donations can be made to the Criminal Justice Program at West Florida High School.
