James "Jimmy" W. Haynes, II, 66, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015. Jimmy was a life-long resident of Pensacola and a graduate of Pensacola High School (PHS). He went on to play football at the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) with much success. Jimmy played in the 1971 Senior Bowl and Blue-Grey games. That same year, he was named All-American Honorable Mention for playing the position of Center. In 2006, it was a great honor of Jimmy's to be inducted into the USM Sports Hall of Fame. He worked as a financial advisor until his retirement. Jimmy loved the PHS Tigers and Florida Gators, but most of all he loved being a father and grandfather. Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Ratchford (Clint); parents, Jimmy "Coach" and Betty Haynes; granddaughter, Leighton Ratchford; sisters, Ann Hurbanis (Bob) and Lori Donahue (Pat) and numerous other relatives and friends. A Memorial service honoring his life will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 11:00 am at Christ Episcopal Church, 18 W. Wright St., Pensacola, FL 32501. A Reception will follow in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jimmy's honor to Covenant Hospice Inpatient and Palliative Care Center, 8383 N. Davis Hwy., 3 North, Pensacola, FL 32514 or the PHS Football Program, Attention: Coach Mike Mincy, 500 W. Maxwell St., Pensacola, FL 32501. The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Tan and his staff for their compassionate care during the last 4 months of his life.
