IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jamie Anne
Peterson
June 22, 1957 – June 4, 2019
Jamie Anne Peterson, 61, of Pensacola Florida, passed away on the morning of June 4 th in the comfort of her home. She was born in Chicago Illinois, June 22 nd of 1957. She married her husband Gregory at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pensacola in 1990.
Everyone who knows Jamie knows that she loved the Lord. She spent her life in praise. Jamie received the baptism of the Holy Spirit in the 1980s and was active in the Charismatic community of Pensacola-Tallahassee. Jamie was an active member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society for many years and developed the idea of the Alfred Washburn center while her husband was serving as council president.
In discussing funeral music with her daughter, she said "I don't want somber music, I want people to celebrate, not be sad." Even as she was dying, her concern was with the people she loved. A few days before her passing she had said she was excited for where she was going next, and that she was ready to be with Jesus. Even as her health deteriorated, she was a blessing to everyone who met her. The day before her passing she prayed the rosary, clapped, and praised the Lord. The last thing she consumed was the Holy Eucharist.
She is survived by her husband Gregory, and their two children, Ian and Isabelle, as well as her siblings: Bob, David, Mac, Paul, Adam, Ben, and Jenny Ferguson, and Julie Rousseau.
Her funeral will be held Monday, June 10 th , 10:30 am at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 9945 Hillview drive, with Father James Grebe as the celebrant. A burial service will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in East Hill. There will be a rosary in the church the night before at 6:00pm. All are welcome.
