Janet Marie "Jan" Bruck, 80, a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ and a resident of Pensacola, FL, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023.

Jan was born on July 15, 1943, in Dayton, OH. She attended Olivet Nazarene University. Prior to retiring, she was a legal secretary for Covington & Burling in Washington, DC. Her hobbies included playing the piano and organ, singing alto in the choir, knitting and crocheting, cooking, and baking, and enjoying time with her beloved family. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Woodbridge, VA for several decades and later joined First Baptist Church Pensacola, where she volunteered with the Samaritan Hands ministry.

Jan is preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Howard Sylvia and Floris Sylvia and her husband, Gordon William Bruck.

Survivors include her daughters, Shari Bruck Harper of Fort Walton Beach, FL and Angel Bruck of Arlington, VA; a son, Sean Bruck (Elizabeth) of Pensacola, FL; a brother, Wes Sylvia of Columbus, OH; a sister, Marigold Dewey of Troy, OH; and her grandchildren, Shep Harper of Niceville, FL, Jayden Harper of Niceville, FL, Layla Bruck of Pensacola, FL, Kenley Bruck of Pensacola, FL and Garrison Bruck of Pensacola, FL.

Visitation will be held 11:30am until a Funeral Service to begin at 12:30pm Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at First Baptist Church, Pleitz Chapel, with Dr. Dave Snyder officiating. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
