Jan Loren Petersen, aged 80, of Pensacola, FL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14th, 2026, surrounded by family, after a brief battle with cancer.

Born on December 21st, 1945. He was the oldest son of Warren J. Petersen and Gladys L. Petersen. He had a long and successful career as an electrician and was a member of the National Elevator Industry union.

Jan was an accomplished billiards player, an avid reader, and enjoyed playing tennis with his children. He was best known for being a colorful storyteller and a charismatic leader in his career. He was a social butterfly and never met a stranger. The final months of his life were enjoyed in the company of his cherished children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents and his brother Ramon.

He is survived by his wife; his children, Cam (wife Darlene), Vanessa, Victoria (husband Blake), Susie (husband Chad), Jay, Philip (wife Colleen), and Jennifer; his 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; and his dear cousin Pat.

A Memorial Visitation will be held 12:00pm – 1:00pm Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.
