Obituary

Jane Vivian Futral Dooley, 93, passed into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, January 25, 2025.

Jane was born on October 20, 1931, in Savannah, GA to the late Bertie Mae Futral Glasscock and the late Samuel Frank Futral, Sr. Jane loved everything about Savannah, and it was there on Savannah Beach that her life changed forever when she met Francis "Frank" Thomas Dooley, Jr. Frank and Jane fell in love and married on June 12, 1954, in Savannah. Frank's work took them to Jacksonville, FL, and Pensacola, FL, where they were founding members of St. Paul Catholic Church. During their 54-year-long marriage, Jane stayed busy raising their seven children, sewing clothes, and always having a delicious home-cooked meal on the family dinner table.

After living briefly in Plano, TX, Frank and Jane retired and moved back to Pensacola in 1987. Jane spent her retirement doing the things she loved – walking with friends, going to the beach, dancing to live music, and spending time with her family, including her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jane faced life's challenges with strength and resilience, and she leaves an enduring legacy of love, finding joy in life's simple pleasures, and the importance of family.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Dooley and her four siblings, Mary Futral Sharpe, Samuel Futral, Jr., John Futral, and Peggy Futral Hancock.

Jane's memory lives on through her children and their spouses, Francis T. Dooley, III (Amy) of Houston, TX, Jane Dooley Morgan (Mike) of Milton, FL, Cindy Dooley Arnold (Bob) of Pensacola, FL, Kathy Dooley Lang of Pensacola, FL, Kelly Dooley Carson (Ed) of Pace, FL, Patrick Dooley (Kye) of Tampa, FL, and Stephanie Dooley Nelson (Mark) of Dallas, TX; as well as 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, whom she cherished.
