An incredibly wonderful woman, our mom, our "Nonie" went to heaven on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.
Jane Sabel Kugelman was deeply loved by her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She adored her family, friends, and the community fiercely. She was affectionately known as "Nonie" to her precious grandkids and great-grandkids. Everything she did was with kindness, wisdom, gentleness and passion. Her family felt such an incredible amount of unconditional love from her, and she leaves behind a beautiful legacy they will continue to carry on.
She was born on June 12th to Rebecca and Marx Sabel. She grew up in Jacksonville, FL with her beloved younger sister, Marcia. She attended the University of Alabama. While she was home from college she met the love of her life through her sister. Jane and Jack Kugelman were then married on September 21, 1947 at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. They moved to Pensacola following their nuptials where they raised their 4 adoring daughters; Marcy Kugelman, Janet Kugelman, Nancy McSweeney and Jackie Kugelman.
She felt a strong connection to Pensacola and the community. She was actively involved throughout her life in many organizations, crews and charities. Her most cherished role was being involved and then being President of The Kugelman Family Foundation. She was devoted in her efforts to giving back to community causes that were close to her heart. After a love for family, she filled her time with movies, Broadway shows, walking, entertaining, tennis, volunteering, traveling the world with her husband and, most recently spending time reading in her garden at home. She will be immensely missed as the matriarch of our family.
She is preceded in death by her darling Jack of 59 years; her parents, Marx and Rebecca Sabel; and her sister, Marcia Fink.
Jane is survived by her 4 daughters, Marcy Kugelman, Janet Kugelman, Nancy McSweeney (Jack) and Jackie Kugelman; her 8 grandchildren, David Foster (Tara), Jared Foster (Sharon), Sarah Ryan (Sean), Clay Cameron (Becky), Josh Cameron, Jane Lauter (Pete), Ferrill Sessions (Rob), and Beth McMahon; her 14 great-grandchildren, Haley, Peyton, Hannah & Samantha Foster, Coletrane, Cash & Hawke Foster, Olivia, Brody & Emily Ryan, Jack & Sabel Lauter, Carter & Sadie Sessions and baby number 15 on the way; her niece and nephew, Janie Conley (Michael) and Marc Fink (Suzy); as well as her first cousin, Frank Rosenblum.
