Janet Sowell Harp, 85, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2014. She was born on December 14, 1928 in Brewton, AL, the daughter of Joseph A. Sowell, Sr. and Ethel Garvin Sowell. Janet met her future husband, Orland Charles Harp, while he was stationed with the US Navy at Whiting Field, and they were married on December 27, 1951. Orland and Janet resided in Brewton for many years until his death on October 21, 2009. Janet was a Homemaker and of the Episcopal Faith. She is survived by her sons, Steven and Charles, along with a nephew, Joseph A. Sowell, III. Graveside committal services will be held at 9:30am Monday, October 27, 2014 at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola.
