Janie Louise Maddon, 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January13, 2022 in Pensacola, FL.
Janie was born on September 14, 1950, in Modesto, CA to Louis D. and Opal Vergene Brooks.
Janie's family settled in Ada, OK and she graduated from Ada High School and East Central University where she played Field Hockey and Basketball. She moved to Pensacola, FL in the early 80's where she was a Real Estate Agent with Better Homes Realty and Connell & Manziek. She became a Mortgage Originator for Wachovia/Horizon, Bank of Pensacola then Synovus Mortgage. She had a tremendous work ethic that grew her business with customers and colleagues that adored her. Janie retired in 2014, spending her time with her beloved pets, golfing, traveling and enjoyed being with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her brother, Joel R. Brooks (Kathy) of Ardmore, OK; niece, Michelle Wheeler of Colorado Springs, CO; great nephews, Scott, Chris, and Tim Wallace of Denver, CO; cousins, Pat Davis (Joe) of Oklahoma City, OK, Mike Messel of Purcell, OK; aunt, Marvelle Messel of Norman, OK; and Becky Black. Two longtime special friends, Becky Bryan and Claire Gallo.
Special thanks to her caregivers at Sacred Heart and Select Specialty Hospital for their wonderful and dedicated care of Janie.
Burial will be in Ada, OK next to her parents. Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel in Pensacola, FL will oversee the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society or to your favorite animal rescue.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service in Pensacola, FL at a later date.
