Jean Moseley Henry Long, 83, of Pensacola, FL passed away Friday, May 8, 2015 with her family at her side. Jean grew up in Kinston, NC and graduated from Salem Academy, Winston-Salem, NC and St. Mary's College, Raleigh, NC. She served as a Congressional Aide at the United States Capital. Jean was also a very proud and dedicated homemaker, raising and lovingly supporting her three children. She was an active member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church and the UWF Women's Club. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hattie Irene Moseley and George Jasper Henry; her brother, George Jasper "Bud" Henry; as well as her aunt, Lillian Moseley Witherington. Survivors include her three children, Jean Long "Gini" Mallory (Trent Stephen) of Richmond, VA, Thomas R. Long, Jr. of Pensacola, FL and James Franklin Long (Laura Michelle) of Waxhaw, NC; three granddaughters, Madeline Jean Mallory, Keira Ashlyn Long and Kennedy Charlotte Long; her sister-in-law, Mabel Gray Henry; as well as nieces, Elizabeth Gray Henry, Laura Henry Horn and Ann Scott Henry all of North Carolina. Visitation will be held 5-6pm Monday, May 11, 2015 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Burial will be held in Kinston, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and nurses of Emerald Coast Hospice as well as the staff and caregivers at Home Instead Senior Care.
