Margie "Jean" Steffensmeier entered into the loving arms of the Lord on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the age of 65.
She was born on August 8, 1960, in Mobile County, AL, to Tulah Beatrice Moore and Joseph Henry Blair. Jean spent her childhood years in both Michigan and Baldwin County, AL, and graduated from Robertsdale High School in 1979. On July 15, 1983, she married the love of her life, Leroy Steffensmeier. Together they built a beautiful life rooted in faith, love, and family. Jean was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, and a proud grandmother whose greatest joy was being surrounded by those she loved.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Leroy; daughters, Donna and Bonnie (John); sons, Joe (Crystal), Tommy (Christina), and Steven; as well as eight grandchildren who were the light of her life. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss her deeply.
Jean will be remembered for her kind heart, her unwavering devotion to family, and the warmth she shared with everyone she met.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:30am Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, with The Very Reverend Joe Callipare, celebrant. Margie's ashes will be inurned at Barrancas National Cemetery.
