Jeffrey M. Simpson, 83 of Falls Church, VA passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023.

Jeffrey was born on May 23, 1940, in Jeffersonville, IN, growing up in nearby Charlestown. As a high schooler, he competed in Olympic Weightlifting, becoming a 'Teenage National Champion' in 1957. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Indiana and took a commission as an officer in the USMC. He served for three and a half years with a tour in Vietnam and attained the rank of Captain. After his service, he returned to graduate school at the University of Indiana receiving his Master of Science in Education. He then taught high school history and geography at McLean High School in Fairfax County, VA. He retired in 1995. A lifelong student, he took Spanish conversation coursework up until his passing. He also enjoyed reading and ballroom dancing. Throughout his life, he was an avid exerciser. Always physically active he would bike, swim, walk, and lift weights.

Jeffrey is preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth (Stoner) and John Franklin Simpson.

He is survived by his son, Steven M. Simpson (Wendy) of Pensacola, FL; grandson, Spencer M. Simpson of Portland, OR; sister, Pamela Fleece (Steven) of Charlestown, IN.

A funeral cortege will depart Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel at 10:00am Monday, March 18, 2024, for a Graveside Service at 10:30am at Barrancas National Cemetery, with Reverend Bobby Ellisor officiating and Marine Honors given.
