There are people who enjoy life, and then there are people who invite everyone else to enjoy it with them. Jennifer Lynn Strickland was one of those rare people. If you were lucky enough to know Jennifer, you knew there was always room beside her at the table, another chair around the fire, or a place next to her on the beach. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome, and no gathering ever seemed complete until she arrived.

Born in Oakland, CA, on May 18, 1965, Jennifer spent most of her life in Pensacola, FL, the place she proudly called home. While California was where her story began, Pensacola was where it truly unfolded. The Gulf Coast held a special place in her heart, and whenever life gave her the chance to slow down, the water was always calling her back.

Jennifer graduated from Pensacola Junior College in 1985, where she earned her cosmetology license before beginning an accomplished career as a licensed esthetician. For more than three decades, she helped others look and feel their very best while working with some of the most respected names in the beauty industry, including Estée Lauder, Chanel, Merle Norman, Dillard's Cosmetics, and Yves Saint Laurent.

Jennifer never needed a special occasion to celebrate. She loved a crawfish boil, a backyard barbecue, Alabama football Saturdays, beach days along the Gulf, and sharing cocktails with friends. To Jennifer, life's greatest moments weren't found in fancy places but in the company of the people she loved. Her infectious laughter, generous heart, and gift for making everyone feel like family meant there was always room for one more chair whenever she was around.

A devoted member of Pensacola Beach Elks Lodge #497 and the Florida Ladies of the Elks, Jennifer embraced every opportunity to give back to her community while creating lifelong friendships. Whether she was volunteering at a fundraiser, attending a community event, supporting a charitable cause, or simply enjoying an evening surrounded by friends, Jennifer found joy in bringing people together. She didn't just attend life's celebrations. She helped create them.

Every fall, Jennifer became impossible to miss. A devoted University of Alabama football fan, she proudly shouted "Roll Tide!" every chance she got, whether she was tailgating with family and friends or cheering from home. Football season wasn't just about the game. It was another reason to gather the people she loved. If Jennifer gave you a random nickname, consider yourself one of the lucky ones. It was one of the many ways she let people know you had found a place in her heart. She never met a stranger, only friends she hadn't gotten to know yet. Her warmth, generosity, and unmistakable laugh left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

Jennifer is lovingly survived by her parents, Madlyn Ruch and Robert Cika Jr.; her stepparents, Don Coleman, Jamie Stone and Stephanie Cika; her children, Angela Kaleigh Samala, Stefan Thompson, Noel Estes, and Jack Thompson; her cherished stepsons, Zack Strickland and Joshua Strickland; her son-in-law, Che Estes; her beloved grandchildren, Marley Fazio, Isaac Rogers, and Eleanor Estes; her siblings, Robert John Cika III, Holley Coleman-Wells and brother-in-law Brad Wells, Sara Coleman, Erin Kelley, Garian Cika, and Kellie Kreitzberg; along with her treasured nieces and nephews, Dominica Coleman, Alec Cika, Lexie Cika, and Devin Fleming.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Terri Strickland; her sister, Mary Angela "Angie" Coleman; her grandparents, Minnie Barry and Bob Barry; and her uncle, Rev. Bill Barry.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 10650 Gulf Beach Hwy, Pensacola, FL, with Father Tom Collins, celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 1300 E Hayes St, Pensacola, FL.

Jennifer measured a rich life not by the years she lived, but by the people she loved, the friendships she built, and the memories she helped create. Her family finds comfort knowing that every beach sunset, every Alabama football Saturday, every backyard barbecue, every crawfish boil, and every gathering filled with laughter will forever carry a piece of her spirit. Though she will be deeply missed, the joy she brought to so many lives will continue to ripple outward for generations to come.

Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Jennifer's memory, honoring both Jennifer and her beloved sister, Angie, whose lives were claimed by cancer, or to the Pensacola Beach Elks Lodge #497, where Jennifer found lasting friendships, fellowship, and a community she loved dearly.
