Jerald Lee Fleming, 70, was born in Pensacola, FL on January 13, 1946 and passed from his earthly home to his eternal home on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.

Jerry, as he was known to his friends and family, was born with cerebral palsy, but he never let that get in his way or stop him from living life to its fullest. He was always happy and made everybody around him happy too. He loved people and pets and never let his condition keep him from laughing and having fun as best as he could. Although he couldn't communicate well due to his condition, he had a way of letting us all know what he wanted and what he needed. He especially loved babies and pets and would always pet them and love them in his own special way.

Jerry spent most of his life in institutions in Alabama and Florida. He was a resident of Pensacola Development Center for many years and resided there until his death. Jerry was known as Jerald to his caretakers and "the boys" at PDC. Our heartfelt thanks to them all for the many years of special care and love they gave him.

He was predeceased by his parents, Marion Way Fleming and Horace H. Fleming, Jr.; brother, Horace H. Fleming III (Buddy) and leaves behind only remnants of a once large family.

A special family member, Nelson H. Stiltner, was entrusted with Jerry's care and welfare by his parents for many years and has gone the extra mile to see to it that Jerry had the care and whatever else he needed.

Jerry's funeral will be a graveside service at Bayview Memorial Park on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 11:00am. Bro. Fred Martin will preside. Family and friends are invited to join us there.
