Obituary

Jerrold Anthony Walters, beloved father, grand Papa , and friend, passed away at age 67 on April 2, 2009. He was a long time resident of Pensacola, FL after serving 26 years as a CTTC in the United States Navy. Born in Detroit, MI on November 13, 1941 to the late Lorne and Jeanne Walters, Jerry is survived by his two sons, Christopher and Shawn Walters, his two daughters, Darnail Cruz-Walters and Jacini Bennett, along with their mother, Judith Calvo. He is also survived by his brother, Scott Gregory Walters with his wife Michelle; and his baby sister Mary Woltz. He especially adored his grandchildren; Mark, Joseph, Eden, Samantha, Jessica, Joshua, Carlie, and Kaylee. His children extend his family with daughters-in-law Debby and Susan, and son-in-law Gregory Bennett. His step-father and friend, Kevin Cunniff, and his nephews Thomas Woltz, Matthew and Andrew Walters keep him in their hearts. He was blessed with lifelong friends, Mike and Audrey Wagner, who have been like siblings to him; and friends such as Mike Scordato, Dale Phillips, Robbie McLaney, and countless others. Jerry brought laughter and joy to his family and friends who are spread throughout the U.S. and Overseas. During his Navy career, he traveled the world from Germany and Scotland to Guam where he met the love of his life and asked her to join him on his grand adventure. Their journey led them and their children to an abundance of places until he retired his Navy career in his favorite of all places " Pensacola, Florida. His retirement led him to enjoy a new career in the local auto industry. There, he found a home at Centennial Imports where he amused co-workers and customers with his quick wit and charismatic charm. Chief Petty Officer Walters, we bid you a final Fair Winds and Following Seas. Visitation will be held 11-12noon Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with a Funeral Cortege to depart Harper-Morris at 12noon to go to Barrancas National Cemetery for a 12:30pm Graveside Service.
