Clyde Jerry Hattaway, 91, of Pensacola, FL, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022.
Jerry was born on February 22, 1930, in New Orleans, LA to the late Dudley and Elizabeth Jones Hattaway. In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, Lelia Roche Hattaway and a sister, Catherine Rawson.
Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. He was a devoted member of McIlwain Presbyterian Church where he was a historian of the church. He proudly served his country as Staff Sergeant in the US Marine CORPS, having served during the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree and then worked as an Electrical Engineer in Civil Service. Jerry was a lifelong baseball fan, most recently cheering on the Pensacola Wahoo's. Jerry was loved dearly and will be missed tremendously by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Joseph Hattaway (Jenet) of Pace, FL and his daughter, Theresa H. Bernard (Bruce) of NC; three grandchildren, David Hattaway (Peanut), Laura Hattaway (Trevor), and Alexis King; great grandchildren, Andrew, Chad, Michael, and Rachael; as well as a brother, Dudley P. Hattaway, Jr.
Services will be held privately for the family with committal at Barrancas National Cemetery.
