Jerry Dean Holmes, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, in Pensacola, Florida.
Born in Cullman, Alabama, Jerry graduated from Phillips High School in 1969. He went on to serve his country in the United States Navy from 1971 to 1976, where he worked as a machinist aboard the USS W. C.Lawe (DD-763), a Navy destroyer.
After his military service, Jerry built a dedicated career with the Carpenters Local out of Birmingham, Alabama, where he remained a proud and active member for many years.
Jerry had a deep love for the simple joys in life-spending time outdoors bird hunting, cheering on Alabama football, and watching NASCAR races. He was known for his strong work ethic, his loyalty to those he loved, and his quiet sense of humor.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carol and Quinnon Holmes.
He is survived by his daughters, Stephany Livengood (husband Ryan); and Kristen McIntosh (husband Patrick); his beloved grandchildren, Joy, Collin, Ryan, Sam, and Elisabeth; and his sisters, Janet Weber (husband Robbie) and Patti Letson (husband Mark), along with their children, David, Joseph, Matthew, and Daniel.
A committal service to honor Jerry's life will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort, Alabama. Jerry will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew him.
