Robert G. "Jerry" Norris, the son of Oliver C. and Myrtle Sue Norris, was born on July 29, 1945, in Pensacola, FL. At the age of 79, he went to Heaven on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

He is preceded in death by his wonderful wife of 50 years, Diane Jones Norris; his son-in-law, Sheldon Bernau; his parents; and older brother, Cliff Norris.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Norris Bernau, and her two children, Diana and Ben; his son, Mark Ryan Norris and his daughter, Grace; brother, Don Norris (Mel); sister Carol Burkman (Bob); sister Janet Kuykendall (John); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jerry was in the charter class at The University of West Florida, where he received a BS degree in Accounting and an MBA. He received a doctorate from Florida State University in Higher Education Administration. Jerry enjoyed a great 38-year career at The University of West Florida, where he served on the faculty as an administrator, retiring as Associate Vice President.

The family extends grateful appreciation to Dr. George Knefely and staff, the Baptist Heart and Vascular Institute Team, Wanda Radford APRN, Dr. Jeremy Smith, the Baptist Hospital 6th Floor angel nurses, and the Azalea Trace community.

Jerry and Diane were long-time members of First Baptist Church Pensacola.   Pastors Dr. Barry Howard and Dr. Dave Snyder will conduct the Memorial Service in Pleitz Chapel at First Baptist Church (500 N. Palafox Street).  Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 27, 2025, with the Memorial Service following at 2:00 pm. A family Graveside Service will follow at Bayview Memorial Park (3351 Scenic Highway).
