Obituary

Jewell (Julie) Grace Eagan died September 18, 2020 at the age of 85 in Pensacola, Florida.

She was born on March 3, 1935 to O.B. Grace and Alcie Mae (Ezell) Grace in Samson, Alabama. After graduating from Sampson High School in 1953, she moved to Montgomery to be near her older sister and to start working. It was in Montgomery that she met her ex-husband Thomas G. Eagan and spent the next thirteen years living in Germany, Ohio, and Michigan. She and her four children moved to Pensacola in 1968. She attended Pensacola Junior College receiving her AA in education followed by her AS in nursing and subsequently her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of West Florida. She worked as a labor and delivery nurse for the next thirty seven years at University Hospital and then West Florida Hospital retiring in 2009 at the age of 75. She loved her career and was responsible for bringing many babies into this world.

She was mother extraordinaire to her four children.

Julie was predeceased by her oldest son, Michael Thomas Eagan in 2016.

Ms. Eagan is survived by her 3 children and their spouses, Kathy Hoggatt (Allen), Kim Agricola (Otto) and Janet Eagan. She was also "Nana Wonderful" to eight grandchildren, Jessica Fulcher (Micah), Ryan Hoggatt, Emily Lewallyn (Bryan), Kelly Wilpitz (Kel), Kendall Johnson (Greyson), Elizabeth Whipple (Kristopher), Kaitlin Eagan (Charles), Grayson Eagan (Alicia) and Ashley Johnson. She was a beloved "Nana J" and "Nana Banana" to seventeen beautiful great grandchildren, Harper, Ellis, Reid, Reece, Cameron, Kiptyn, Primrose, Graham, Marigold, Hazel, Leland, Maggie, Paisley, Dylan, Woodrow, Steele and Mason. She is also survived by her sister, Jeanette King and her best friend, Nancy Campbell and Jack Floyd.

Even in all that Julie accomplished she was a radiant beauty who could light up a room with laughter and love and fun. We are sure that she is doing the same in Heaven. She loved gardening and said before she passed, "Make your garden beautiful, because that is where you will find me." She will be missed more than words could ever express.A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.
