James "Jim" E. Holmes, 76, of Pensacola, FL and formerly of Indianapolis, IN passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023.

Jim was born on November 7, 1946, in Indianapolis, IN, and graduated from Howe High School. He received his bachelor's degree from General Motors Institute, and his master's from Purdue University. He started working for General Motors Gas Turbine, and ultimately retired in 2013 from Rolls Royce. He attended First Baptist Church of Pensacola, previously attended Camby Community Church in Camby, IN.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Helen (Ballard) Holmes.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Holmes of Pensacola, FL; three children, Jeff Holmes and Kimberly Reeves (Gregg) both of Oklahoma City, OK, and Ilyas Holmes (Katie) of Zionsville, IN; five grandchildren, Parker Reeves and Sophia Reeves both of Oklahoma City, OK, Emma Foltz, Brena Foltz, and Hallie Holmes all of Zionsville, IN; as well as his sister, Jean Traxler (Rick) of Indianapolis, IN.

Visitation will be held 10:30am until the Memorial Service to begin at 11:00am Friday, October 27, 2023, at First Baptist Church, 500 N. Palafox St., Pensacola, FL 32501, with Dr. Dave Snyder officiating.
